I had a wonderful Saturday, when my husband took the kids out for over 4 hours and I got half of my Good Fortune quilt quilted up. I had much more success than the first block, although still not perfect, but I had fun quilting whilst watching new episodes of Gossip Girl via Hulu, and took an intermission to go for a bike ride to get some sushi for lunch!
I’m alternating the patterns with geometric designs and curved designs. My straight lines aren’t so straight, but I am getting better at it as I work out my groove of the fine line between pedal speed and hand speed.
Here you can see better how the Aurifil threads are working – the 2000 50w blends in nicely on top, while the 3770 40w variegated blue works nicely on the back to give some texture amongst the busy backing. I’m aiming to get this all done in time for the Blogger’s Quilt Festival, and I’m on track so far!

FMQ is so freeing don’t you think? Frustrating to start with but it does get easier with practice. Looking good so far!
