Fear not, fellow Fabriholics Anonymous, I have not fallen off the wagon. In fact, it made for a cheap and quick trip to the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival, not being able to browse the hundreds of stalls of fabric! But I didn’t leave empty-handed, oh no…
I finally gave in and bought some Clover clips. I had been using bulldog clips and a handful of little plastic clips supposed to be for stationery, but the bulldog clips kept catching onto each other and I couldn’t use them when sewing on the machine. So 30 Clover clips it is! I also picked up a new rotary blade and machine needles. Oh yes, living it up here.
The Fabric Fast has been going well. I’ve stuck to my rules and only bought solids as needed and a little bit of Verna by Kate Spain, my one exception. When I had to buy some Kona Steel from overseas, I didn’t fill up my envelope with fabric! That’s my one weakness, not wanting to waste postage prices. Instead, I filled up the cheap postage price at the Fat Quarter Shop with a Generation Q magazine and a Pigma marker pen to use for my Project Life and quilt labels.
And finally, happy Australia Day! As I said on Facebook earlier today:

Well done – I am spend free too this month. I think Clover Clips are a must have for any quilter, I love them – so useful for all sorts of things, not just binding.

Happy Australia Day Alyce 🙂 We celebrated by watching the Australian Open!! Well done for going to a quilt festival and not buying any fabric – completely brilliant! I have survived the fast so far too – by avoiding visiting quilt shops online!

Happy Australia day! I must try those clips!

Happy Australia Day Alyce! And thanks for stopping by my corner of the world. I can see that you are up to all sorts of crafty business here. We were supposed to make a trip to Japan in the Fall of last year, but wound up going to Malaysia instead. We will get to Japan one of these days as my husband does business with a company from there. He will be meeting them in Dubai next month. Best wishes, Tammy

Happy Australia Day. Not sure I could resist the fab fabric though. Mind you, as I have just started quilting, I have a very small stash myself.

Great job resisting fabric at a quilt show. That’s a tough one. I’d have to just stay away.

Hello, thanks for the Flickr album with your pictures from the show. I’ve posted a link to it on a French quilters forum. I hope you don’t mind.
Beatrice.
