During the summer holidays, I have some friends helping out with Sew Cute Tuesday so that I can keep featuring your awesome projects and so we can meet some regular Sew Cute friends! Today is a fellow ex-pat, except she’s from Russia and lives in Taiwan. Together we understand ex-pat life, she was a Bright Sky pattern tester, and I am a proud owner of the most adorable envelope zippered pouch made by her! I use it to store souvenirs and such to use in my Project Life album!
Hello everybody! My name is Alisa and I blog over at A Stitch in Between. As usual, my disclaimer is that I have at all times three languages floating around in my head, so any mistakes or unclear/run on sentences can be blamed on that and not by any means on my inability to use spell check. I am so excited to be here today hosting Sew Cute Tuesdays for Alyce and can’t wait to see what kind of beautiful things you guys will link up today! I have been sewing for a couple of years and I go between sewing clothes for my kids, quilting, patchwork, bags, pouches and more. It’s all because I’m open-minded, and not by any means indecisive (*snicker*)! I haven’t been making a ton of new stuff lately but here are a couple of my latest projects.
Potholders for my mom! Scrappy one is made using a tutorial by Sew Delicious and long arm pot holder was made using Sew Easy’s pattern.
I had also just made a quick reversible library tote for my “The Fault is in Our Stars” loving niece. I experimented with these new fabric paint markers I found and the jury is still out on whether or not I like the effect. The purple fabric was sent by Alyce as part of the Color of the month club she runs and it’s just gorgeous.
Now onto past week’s links! Oh man, it was so hard to pick my favorites (I know everyone always says that but I really mean it and you should trust me).
1. Diamonds are Forever (you know it, girlfriend!) by Quiltineering
This beauty was stitched up by a quilting engineer over at Quiltineering. I love the straight lines quilting and the colors are just the best!
2. Orange peels by Tanya Quilts
Well this one wasn’t even fair because I’m a sucker for rainbow colored schemes, so I couldn’t pass this by! The color placement is so easy on the eye, I can see myself laying on this whilst sipping frozen margaritas. Yes, we must make this happen, Tanya!
3. Sun and Surf Totes by Our Busy Little Bunch
I’m all about these colors! What a great summer bag, perfect for carrying frozen margaritas all your beach trinkets. I love the fact that Rebecca used her orphaned blocks as main panels, how many of us have blocks like that lying around?? Not me, of course, I always finish every project I start (*whistles innocently*)
Well, that’s all folks, link up and show us what gorgeous stuff you have been working on! Don’t forget you can share via Instagram and link it up here too. Just use the #sewcutetuesday hashtag so we can see it over there too!
