I don’t know about you, but I love reading about the behind the scenes info of my favourite quilters and designers. So I asked some experienced designers to share about their design process and favourite tips and tricks for quilt designing. Each Friday, there will be 3 experienced designers sharing on their blogs! Today’s line up is chock full of inspiration and information:
Anne from Play Crafts is the founder of Quilt Design A Day, and churns out a lot of quilts from her designs too! She’s also the lady behind the famous Palette Builder – a great tool to use when working out the colours for your design.s
Sandi aka the Crafty Planner thinks deeply about the art of crafting, with her weekly podcast a favourite to listen to while walking or sewing. She’s also a fellow Make Modern-er, with a few of her patterns being published in the magazine.
Jess from Elven Garden Quilts is probably best known for her stunning free motion quilting that she achieves on her domestic sewing machine. But she’s also a talented quilt designer, with her modern quilts being published magazines and beyond. She was also my very first pattern tester, so you could even say she played a role in my quilt design and math journey that led to my writing of DIY Block Design! Thanks, Jess!
Have you been sketching your quilt designs this week? Be sure to share them on Instagram using #myDIYblockdesign! Not only would I love to see your work, but you could win your choice of charm pack from Fat Quarter Shop.
