Today’s the day we celebrate the end of the first quarter of the Modern HST Sampler quilt along, reaching the 25% milestone, and share the our progress by using the linky down below.
If you do not know how to join the linky, I have written a tutorial today for how to join a linky party. If you have a blog post, an Instagram post or a photo on your computer, you can join in! To link up, just share your progress with one photo containing all your blocks that you’ve made, whether it’s one block or six. If it’s one of the Modern HST Sampler quilt blocks, we want to see it! And why should you add your link, other than showing off your blocks? Because you could win one of these amazing prizes!!
Grand Prize // To one randomly selected QALer who has completed all six blocks from this quarter:
Bloc Loc HST Set #1 from Bloc Loc Rulers, includes: 1.5″, 2.5″, 3.5″, 4.5″, 5.5″ and 6.5″ rulers! I have the 5.5″ ruler, and I would not be doing this sampler quilt without it. I’ll be quite jealous of whoever wins this one!
Other Prizes // To three randomly selected QALers who have completed any (1-6) blocks from this quarter:
Sewing pouch from Candied Cottons, goodies pictured inside not included but instead, with some needles, thread, a seam ripper, and 6 fat quarters from Gotham Quilts to fill it up!
2 yards of winner’s choice of 108″ wideback fabric from Fort Worth Fabric Studio to back your Modern HST Sampler quilt!
A Hometown Girl by Pat Sloan fat quarter bundle from Fat Quarter Shop.
So share your blocks, however many that may be, and enjoy seeing the huge range of fabrics being used! It’s so inspiring to see all the different fabrics being used.
Official stuff: Linky closes Monday April 4, 11:55pm (JST). Winners will be selected randomly and contacted via email. I move back to Australia on Saturday, so if it takes a few days to contact the winners, please be gracious and patient, thank you so much for understanding!

Hi Alyce, it would appear I have ‘linked’ three times ….. Not sure how I’ve managed that…are you able to delete two of them, pleeeeeze…sorry ๐๐ณ
Alyce says
Haha, sure, no worries! For future reference, you’re supposed to be able to do so yourself, somehow ๐
Teje says
Hi Alyce! Good Luck with the moving! I didn’t have time to join the fun with triangles but I have enjoyed seeing what you all have made! x Teje
Jodie says
Amazing prizes! Will have to get all mine out for a group photo ๐
Hope you have a good flight x
Anne says
Thank you for all you do. First time I have been able to link, probably my fault, this was easy. Blocks are fun to make because everything is well done. Enjoying seeing everyone’ s blocks.

Thank You Alyce for making it possible to join in stumble and learn so much about the sewing and what we have inside ourselves. It is really fun and interesting. Safe travels for you and your family.

Alyce – I’m very much enjoying the HST quilt along; thanks for doing so much work! I’ve never linked anything before, and just tried twice (uploading photo); it says Done, but I don’t see my photo posted. I do see 57 others posted/linked. I wondered if I did it wrong and it never got to the site or if I did it right and it will show up tomorrow… Call me, confused! Sue
Alyce says
I can’t see your’s either, it is supposed to show up straight away, yes. If you can’t get it to work, just send me an email with your photo and I”ll link it up behind the scenes for you ๐
Sue Payne says
I managed to do it today — It was user error yesterday (I missed that I had to click “Select” after getting my photo uploaded into the form)! Thanks for your patience with me!
Anja @ Anja Quilts says
It’s been great learning all these techniques. Thanks for hosting. These are great prizes!
Susan says
Well, I have all six in the post, but I don’t have a picture that shows all six together. Oh, well! At least I finished them all, so far!
Alyce says
Ah, that’s just so it makes it much easier to quickly choose winners at the end ๐ I’ve noted that you’ve finished all 6!
Susan says
Thanks! I appreciate that. I’ll try to follow directions better next quarter. Most of the links I clicked come back to this same page, and I was disappointed not to go to the blog or Instagram or Flickr or some site where I could see them up close and maybe leave a comment.
Alyce says
Yes, many people who are sewing along don’t have any of those sites! Or it’s their first time joining a linky, so mistakes may have happened. Either way, I’m just so glad they did join up!
Stephanie says
Just want to say how much I am loving this quilt-along! I feel like I’ve made so much progress and it has been so fun seeing everybody’s choices as we go through each block.
