The day that I have been waiting months for has finally arrived! The idea for this quilt design has been in my head for over a year, and I had the chance to make it earlier this year. Alas, magazine publishing schedules means that you have to wait and wait to share the finished product. But at last, that day has arrived, and I’m very proud to present Emblematic!
If the incredible styling hasn’t already given it away, you can find Emblematic in issue 42 of Love Patchwork & Quilting, which is out today!
I made this quilt using my Kona bundle that I curated for Handmade By Emily, that I chose specifically with the idea of playing around the idea of the illusion of transparency, and quilted it using the matching threads that I curated for the Aussie Aurifil Club!
It was such a thrill to see that idea come to life, playing with some favourite geometric shapes. I’ve always loved the designs from southwest USA, and this shape was perfect to use for the transparency play.
And if you really love the design, but want a quicker version of it in your life, then Patchwork Threads and I have the answer for you… An Emblematic T-shirt!
If you order it by Sunday 18th December (11L59pm EST), use the code BLOSSOMHEARTQUILTS to get 20% off!

Alyce – That pattern is beautiful. I love it. Since I have a list of 20 quilts, including WIP’s, this is 21. Congratulations on the magazine coverage.
I love what your wrote in your newsletter today. So, my word and sentence for next year year is focus, and stop overloading my to-do list, because than it’s not obtainable. So it’s a two pronged goal. One of my worst habit is thinking I can do it all, plus some. I’m not 20 any more, and I can’t pull all nighter’s like I did in graduate school. I’m ummm, quite a bit older now.
That was a really inspiring newsletter. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you and your family a healthy, and Happy New Year xoxo
