The first installment of the Fat Quarter Shop’s Designer Mystery BOM has arrived! Oh happy days! And so perfectly packaged as always.
I had to wait an hour or so while I supervised the kids playing outside, but after one too many rule-breaking-moves, I gleefully herded the kids inside and sat down to quickly cut out the pieces. Only one mistake, that’s not too bad!
I had heard that the FQS were very generous in the fabric they sent each month, and that was in fact the clincher for me to sign up. And boy were they right! The Cream Dots was a whole fat quarter (the others smaller) and I don’t think you even use half of what they send. PLUS a mini charm pack of Vintage Modern! So cute!
Hopefully tonight I’ll start piecing the block, and then it’ll be another BOM I’m impatiently waiting for the next installment! Looking at the instructions, I’ll be learning a new technique with the non-HST corners (whatever the proper word is for them!) and hopefully there’ll be no problems. And if so, well, there’s plenty of fabric left over just in case!
WIP List:
Paper pieced sewing machine – Untouched.
HST BOM – Up to date and impatiently awaiting next week’s installment.
Transport I-Spy quilt – Almost all cut and ready to piece rows.
Sakura stitchery – Powering along still! Almost finished.
Good Fortune quilt – Back to be pieced, batting to buy, basting and quilting to be done.
Scrappy Girl quilt – Sitting in the same pile as the Good Fortune quilt!
WIPping it good,
Alyce xx
