This week saw a few little purchases to finish off quilts – backing and binding for a baby girl quilt and border fabric for the transport I-spy quilt. And 5 metres (!!) of flannel to use as batting. I use flannel as it’s warm, but lightweight, and not too thick and bulky for little Ellie!
Once again, I just picked what looked good. It wasn’t until I got home that I looked at the selvedges and discovered that once again, these gorgeous girly prints are Doodlebug Designs!! First the sewing machine print, then the I-spy map. All chosen for the prints, and all just happen to be Doodlebug Designs. I think I will have to declare myself a Doodlebug fan – this is just starting to get freaky!
I’m adding a border to a quilt. I’m in shock! I’m usually a borderless fan, but 1) I need to add a bit more length and width to the quilt top, and 2) I want to tame the busy top a little. This light grey print is perfect!
So with these in my hot little hands, I have no excuse now to not have at least 2 quilt finishes this month! In fact, I’m on track for three if I can find the right binding for a UFO I brought with me to Japan. And theoretically there’s a fourth, although that one’s a throw/lap quilt and the size is a little daunting when compared to 2 baby quilts and a toddler bed quilt!
Linking up to Finding Fifth as usual!

Oh my so many finishes to come…I am impressed. Now you are on a cute fabric roll with the doodlebugs then. I like the light grey transport ones too!
