This week saw the arrival of two delicious layer cakes. I thought I was going to have to wait to get my hands on Cuzco by Kate Spain and Simply Color by V & Co. I am a BIG sucker for colour wheel and rainbow designs, and Simply Color is just perfect. And Cuzco? Well, I’m a proud Kate Spainaholic! First fell in love with Flurry when I began quilting last year and very soon after came Good Fortune and it’s very apt Japanese influence. I haven’t looked back since!
But then I saw that Jane at Want It, Need It, Quilt, my favourite go-to Aussie store, had prerelease precuts in stock, instincts kicked in…
Oh they’re so beautiful! The amazing jewel tones of Cuzco, the shades of Simply Color… Although I’m sad there’s only two pink prints in the whole layer cake! Three pieces, one duplicate.
Playing around with combos – but only 2 pinks!! |
I also picked up 3 more prints for my son’s transport I-spy quilt – and I think I’m a Doodlebug Designs convert, even just for the adorable selvedges on the prints!!
Now to actually get to piecing the quilt…

What gorgeous prints! It is a real shame when the colour you like has the least amount of prints! Great prints for the I-spy quilt =D

Oh wow those boys prints are awesome – love that map! Now I like ‘Flurry’ but I think the colourways in ‘Terrain’ and ‘Cuzco’ are not my style – all the best with what you make with these layer cakes. Thanks again for joining in Alyce.
