After having lost my sewjo for a week or so, I eased back on board this week with three small finishes.
The first was a stroller book bag that has been in the WIP pipeline for a good couple of months. I had finished the front weeks ago, and then left the easiest part of adding a back, a lining and a handle until this week.
The front is an assortment of selvages and scraps of things my kids like (ie. Thomas the Tank Engine and Winnie the Pooh), carefully machine pieced to look like books on a shelf. First shot? That leaning book was leaning in thin air. Oops. Now it’s carefully propped up by a pile of books whilst it leans on another.
The backing, lining and handle is a Miffy print bought earlier this year from Spotlight. Just perfect for a book-themed bag! And that’s my third project ticked off my FAL list!
The second finish was the On The Go High And Low pillow from yesterday.

And the third one last night was this little pencil case for myself. I recently bought a new graph book and some textas that actually work as opposed to the cheapy multi-coloured pens I bought two weeks ago, as I use them to sketch up my ideas. I like to keep them in my handbag and so a new pencil case was in order!
I used an adorable apples and woodlands creatures print from Sevenberry available here in my Etsy store, and a plain grey inside as I had the perfect sized scraps for two lining pieces.

I love how you said the easiest part of the book back was the lining, backing and strap — it’s the opposite for me. Love that book bag, Alyce. I’ve been meaning to make some library bags and I think something like you did is the ticket.
