When does a WIP become a UFO?! I propose that this WIP officially be classed as a UFO – it’s been over 5 months since I finished the top and started to piece the back. It’s since been languishing in the cupboard, packed into a suitcase, and shoved into yet another cupboard.
Why have I procrastinated? Because it’s the biggest quilt yet! It’s “only” a lap quilt – something to snuggle under the couch with in winter. But that’s still a heck of a lot bigger than baby quilts! I have been so nervous at the idea of trying to quilt this on my little Ellie the Elna, but I think I’m almost ready to give it a go.
I need to finish piecing the back and buy some more flannel (my wadding of choice as it reduces thickness for Ellie but is still warm and snuggly!) and then I will do it. It was on my Third Quarter Finish-Along list, so I’ve got a month or so to finish it. I can do that. I WILL do that!

Gorgeous – I love the fabric and the pattern you used is perfect for it.

Love the Good Fortune fabric; it looks wonderful on your quilt! I bought a bit, but should have bought more…

Oh it’s lovely! Gorgeous use of Good Fortune!
What sort of quilting are you thinking? Straight line would be fairly manageable I’m sure! Just roll your quilt really well to keep it in place (oh and tape is your friend for marking quilt lines!)

It is too beautiful to leave as a UFO! Go for it! Your quilting may not be perfect, but perfection, I believe, is highly overrated!

Gosh I have two quilts I need to quilt and bind. I’m a little afraid to quilt them encase I mess it up. I’ve never machine quilted before so I’m putting it off until I can muster the courage =D
