This week my on-the-go WIPs are actually in their infancy stage of planning and playing with fabric. Yesterday I finally got Susan Briscoe’s Japanese Quilt Blocks book! I’m going to be doing a Japanese sampler quilt using Japanesey Japanese fabrics in a blue and white colour scheme…
I must admit to being scared of some, or most, of the harder blocks towards the end of the patchwork blocks, let alone even thinking of doing the applique ones! I’ll wait to decide now, but I’m tempted to “cheat” and adapt the patterns to match my skills. Sure, some will be good to do to build skills, but some just look insane!
The second project is using my precious layer cake of Simply Color by V & Co. This is pretty much about all I can share with you until it’s done though! Yep, I too hate it when bloggers share snippets of secret projects, but this is for a blog hop project, so just hold your horses for now and admire the yummy colours…
Linking up to Freshly Pieced! And if you’re dropping by from WIP Wednesday, you might like to check out my new Christmas Block of the Fortnight starting next week – perfect for building up the pile of handmade Chrissy pressies!

I love your picks of “Japanesey Japanese fabrics!” So adorable!! Can’t wait to see your finished product! I have been to Japan twice and regret not bringing more fabric home with me. I’m hoping to move over there and teach english for a few years, though.

V & Co. Simply color is wonderful I bought a Charm Pack to check it out. This is what I usually do as don’t want to waste money on yardage.
Simply color looks great as a LC. so probably buy more but love Kate Spain’s Cuzco & Chez Moi’s Coquette. So much wonderful colour and as have been to Cuzco brings back wonderful membories such as trekking to Macchu Pichu. And Chez Moi’s best colour/design since Boutique. And this is only Moda. Love Art Gallery, Kona solids, Indie designers. There is a plethora out there…
