Or more accurately, roll roll roll of the rotary cutter as I’ve almost run out of white thread (my staple piecing colour) and so I don’t want to start something new until I’ve bought more!
A quieter week this week as we head off today for a work conference. My husband gets to attend a Japanese radiation conference and we get to tag along and explore Sendai! I’ve started cutting for my sister’s baby quilt and am falling more and more in love with the material and colours! It really does look gender neutral and will work fabulously for either a little niece or nephew! I’ve had to order a bit more fabric of two prints so they’re winging their way to me now!
I’ve also started cutting for my Japanese sampler quilt! So excited about that. Starting off easy and working from #1.
And decided to use grey thread (which actually makes more sense) to piece the first two blocks.
Plus my new sewing space definitely counts as a big WIP this week!!
Also – to those who read through a Reader, are you having any problems with my blog posts? I subscribe to my own feed so I can keep an eye on it and make sure it’s coming through properly, and I’ve been having some problems. It all started on Friday when I had email issues! Please let me know if anyone else is, and I’m very sorry if you are!! I’m working on it, but have no idea how to fix it…

I read thru Google Reader, and this post looked just fine.
1094 yards of thread. wow. 🙂

I don’t think I’ve had any issues with your posts in my reader. Your sewing space is great – looks like you get great light in there. My sewing space has a lot of light too but actually a bit too much since at certain times during the day, the glare on the metal parts of my sewing machine are blinding.

Hi Alyce,
I receive your emails. Though I could go to Google reader. Not having any problems downunder.
I was thinking that your space looked very minimalist – like the local culture.

Don’t you just hate being low on white thread? I just went about a week and a half working only on dark projects because I kept forgetting to buy some white thread! 🙂

I read through Google Reader, and I don’t think there’s a problem with your posts. They all seem to show up, and they display nicely. They’re not truncated, and I can see all the pictures. Hope that helps!
