I also just loved the palette this photo comes up with as it meant I could pull out my precious Art Gallery Fabrics! Which are sentimental as they were a lucky find purchased here in Japan on our trip to Sendai 2 months ago. As I was working out what fabrics to use, I noticed that the paisley fabric had all the right colours on it’s own! Add the grey and voila!
I wanted to imitate the flowers, given that they provide most of the colour, and decided to stick to the classic hexy flower. That and I already had the template and papers! Plus I could fussy cut the paisley… The final Presidential Debate and then Saturday Night Live (via Hulu Japan) saw it sewn together, and for now, it just waits. I may add something more to it, or make some more to make a Japanese travels cushion… We’ll see!
If I do add anything to it, it’ll be a light blue to match the sky. I still remember that day – the most perfect spring weather with a clear, sunny sky and a cool breeze.
See what the rest of this week’s hoppers have stitched!
Plus, you can join the fun and win some prizes!! Do the same kind of thing, and link up Nov. 30th to win! You can read all the fine print over at Quokka Quilts.
