I’m Australian and we don’t have Thanksgiving, tomorrow is American Thanksgiving, Friday is Japanese Thanksgiving. Tomorrow is my international mums’ playgroup Thanksgiving lunch and I’m on the decorating commitee… Well, me and the mum whose house we’re crashing at! Which of course requires something handmade to compliment the Daiso (100 yen store) decorations. And of course Kristy at Quiet Play had turkey paper piecing pattern that needed testing!
Came together nice and quickly yesterday, started quilting today, and will finish it tonight after work. I even broke out the fancy stitches for the tail feathers…
I think it adds a little feathery-like detail to the tailfeathers. I’m not going to bind it – I’ll just sew the back on right-side on top, turn out and top stitch around to close it. Tight schedule to follow!

How cute. Sounds like you need to do an international Thanksgiving tour and eat ALL the foods.

I love when you find a good place to use your fancy stitches. The other moms are going to flip when they see it!

Hope you gobble gobble well in celebration. I did not know that the Japanese celebrate their own Thanksgiving. Is it an old or new custom?
