I’ve mentioned Wombat Stew before, a paper piecing bee I’m in with 6 other Aussie gals – Fiona, Gemma, Kristy, Jane, Lara and Marieka. I started the first round with Japanese cuisine blocks, Jane had October and requested paper pieced houses, and Kristy requested sewing notions for November. November was a very low sewjo month for me, and thankfully she’s been very gracious with the fact that I only started on it this week. Last night, I finally sat down to piece a pincushion…
Too small, too wonky. But I’m happy with my design and that it looks nice and plump as hoped! Now to enlarge the pattern and try again!
I also got some more done on KIDS – which I forgot to mention last time is an acronym. For what, I can never remember, but yes, my husband’s group has done lots of work with preschools and schools, especially after Fukushima last year.
I had a mild heart attack when I ran out of the grey, but thankfully was able to findit again at the store yesterday! This pattern will end up at 40″ long, and I had underestimated just how much grey I would need.
And after dragging my feet on these projects, I actually started and finished something last night! So I would have had a finish to show off for TGIFF this week, except it’s for my Wombat Stew Secret Santa. Who obviously would see it here, so I’ll have to wait until she gets it first! All I will say is that it was a lot of fun and nice and quick, and I’m totally wanting to make one or two or three for me too!
Only one more day to enter all the fun things happening this week – the Name That Fabric! giveaway, the Sew Seasonal linky, and the Sew Mama Sew giveaway! Whew, I did NOT plan it like this…
