I’m not claiming to be a blogging-know-all, but I do love to get down and dirty with the technical side of blogging. I’m often tinkering away behind the scenes, trying to work out newer and better ways to make my blog look pretty, or a little bit fancier, or easier for you to use. A big favourite is how to centre page tabs on Blogger at the top of your blog, just under your header. They default to the left, but lookee here…
All nice and centred! How to do it?
1) Go to “Template” area within Blogger, then choose the orange “Customize” button. In the far left area, select the “Advanced” tab and then the “Add CSS” tab in the second column (it’s way down the bottom).
2) Copy and paste the following code into the CSS window:
.PageList {text-align:center !important;}
.PageList li {display:inline !important; float:none !important;}

This is a fantastic tip! I know pretty much jack diddly about web design and tools but have tinkered with blogger. Do you have any good recommendations for learning tools for web design/blog designing?
thanks!

Thank you, Alyce! Some day when I have enough to actually make tabs (page one is proving to be enough of a challenge for me so far!) I’ll return to this for help.

Ooh, Alyce! I don’t have tabs but as soon as I do you can bet they’ll be centred! You should make this a regular type of feature article! I love to learn about the technical ways of improving my blog, but the Internets is just so big!

Silly question, but how do you get the tabs at the top of your blog anyways?

I really appreciate technical tips to simplify the process as I do not enjoy the technical aspect at all but I would like to have a pretty blog!!

Yay! I finally did this today (and added other pages!) with this simple CSS code. Thanks so much for providing and letting us other not-so-coding-inclined to follow suit!
