The super awesome Fiona is using this month’s bee blocks to donate to the Tasmanian Bushfire Appeal, so she asked for 9 patch polaroid blocks with one wonky polaroid. She’s making a gender neutral quilt, so she asked for 4 different background colours and I chose aqua. Technically this fabric is Bella Turquoise, but Fiona approved – it’s darker in real life than that swatch. After a mild mishap of sashing the Polaroid blocks the wrong way first time and wrestling with some wonky polaroid blocks (from my set of Polaroid swap blocks), I finally got it done, and only just to the specified size! I hope…
My other bee block for February was a LynneBobSquarePants block for Briony. This is the first time I’ve worked with black! It was fun pulling out a range of brightly coloured scraps for this one, and after managing to sew one row in upside down, I got it done.
For Wombat Stew this month, Marieka asked for Vintage Kitchen blocks. I was originally going to use the Vintage Teapot pattern again, but then Kristy had some time to just sketch and sketch a variety of amazing patterns, and so I jumped ship and grabbed one of them instead. But unfortunately I didn’t get time to finish it before leaving, so I’ll have to share that in March’s round up.
A reminder that 100% of all sales from my Tea For Two pattern in February will be donated to my sister and her husband. It is only fitting, given the cover quilt was to be Ariella’s.

Yes that turquoise block does look good and what a great idea to use black!
