March was insanity. Pure and simple. I had many deadlines to meet, many things to catch up on, and I’m so proud that I made it! I’m a procrastinator by nature, and thus like to run and hide from deadlines. But I didn’t. Well, not enough to have impacted the outcome – all was ticked off by Sunday! To celebrate, I’m reducing my to-do list this month to just a handful of sewing:
Jonathan’s preschool bags – Due next week… Oh man, he starts his schooling life. For the next 15-20 years. Mother-heart breaking… Anyway, they’ll look a lot like these given that he chose the same fabric!
Good Fortune quilt – My husband has been very patient with this… it’s only taken weeeeeeeeeeell over a year to get from fabric purchasing to quilting. I will need to buy batting first though!
Blanket for Isabelle’s new baby doll – Her grandparents sent her a baby doll complete with a little fabric Moses basket, pillow, and nappy/diaper bag full of accessories. What a shame it didn’t include a blanket…
Bees & BOMs & Blocks – As always. And including catching up on the Fat Quarter Shop BOM! It’s my turn as queen bee for one of them, and I’ve asked for 12″ nuts and bolts blocks inspired by Laurie Wisbrun’s upcoming line – navy, yellow, pink and that green. Candy green? Teal? I’ve already seen one set finished, with a few more sneak peeks of fabric choices, and I’m very excited! I’m on a bit of a navy trip at the moment, so expect to see some more! I also want to try and commit to making more Japanese sampler quilt blocks (remember them?!) and to FMQ a block each month. At least. I don’t even want to add up how many blocks that is each month…
Make my Wombat Stew Japanese cuisine mini – We only have one more month left to go of this round, and then we’ll take a month off to finish our minis off. So May should see this all sewn up properly! It’ll only have taken 6 months…
Modern Blocks QAL – Well, that’s an ongoing WIP, but I’ll be adding that to my monthly blocks…
Well, that’ll keep me going for a while. Not to mention a few more projects in the works that I will share when I can!

I’m at the other end of schooling, with my youngest doing Year 12 this year. Made it out the other end alive – well nearly, not long to go now! Your Wombat Stew blocks look great!
