I have very few quilt books. This is in part due to the awareness that in 2 years time we will be packing and moving internationally again, and I am conscious of weight/space/cost limitations! But this week saw 2 new books arrive – Modern Blocks and Patchwork, Please! I appear to have snatched up the last signed copy Ayumi had for sale in her shop, but it is available in plenty of other locations!
Patchwork, Please! is just fabulous – so inspiring, and I can’t stop looking at all the pretty pictures!! I think I’ve read and skimmed through it at least once a day this week. As much as I would love to, I won’t be joining in the official sew along through the book as I know I don’t have the time. But I will most definitely be making some things from it – it’s such a perfect book for gifts – so maybe over the course of the sew along, I can link up here and there.
Finally, these gorgeous charms! I ordered them from Skull Buttonry – an Australian-based Etsy business that sells buttons and charms and trim (oh my!) and more with all proceeds going to the Foundation 18 organisation. She has fabulous prices, with flat rate shipping – $3 in Australia and $7 international. I have a minor obsession with miniature sewing machines, so a little Singer sewing machine charm was right up my alley (10 for $2!). The tree charms are a sentimental purchase with personal meaning, and the Made With Love charms are for 20 for $1.50 and will be added to any items I make for swaps or gifts or the like.
Linking up with Sunday Stash!

We had the same philosophy about books when we came to Japan but somehow we have accumulated quite a few because, well, books are books! What a cute idea to use charms… Even better that proceeds go to a good cause!
