I’ll virtually high five anyone who can tell me the difference between these bags and the last lot I made… Other than the fact that there’s only 2 this time! Jonathan loved the fabric, as did I, so I was more than happy to play with it again! And this time, I had already learnt the lessons and whipped them up in an hour. Gotta love a quick finish!
The smaller one is for his indoor shoes, while the bigger one is for changes of clothes. His preschool has an indoor pool! I don’t think he gets to use it this year, or maybe only in summer holidays, but the 4 and 5 year olds do lessons during the year. I think this is also for sports gear? I don’t know, time and my husband translating will tell.

They looks great, Alyce!
I need to make some drawstring bags this weekend to keep the kids stuff organised for our mammoth drive to Perth next week.
MsMidge says
Great bags. And yes, just grab a lighter or match and slowly/gently light the ends of the cord, before it goes black, then just mould it a little between your fingers 🙂
Kerstin says
Definitely fire! I do that all the time with ribbons, works really well. And the fabric is super cool for boys, I could very well imagine pants from it.
Jess says
Fab Alyce! I can’t believe they do swimming lessons at preschool – that’s fantastic!
Sooli says
Great bags again! I definitely think you’ll get more requests to make these after everyone sees them!

Bags are so super cute. I almost think that you can get these plastic drawstring ends at JoAnn and just slip them on and then melt them into place. I could be wrong but if I am they need to start carrying them.

They will do their job well! Yep, as McMidge says, give them a little melt with a lighter (and don’t practice on the bags!!!)
Lin says
Lovely bags and yes, I agree with all your commenters – heat!
Gina says
You can melt them with a flame or here in the states we have fray check found in the notions aisle of the craft/ fabric store. Maybe you can find it in Japan too.

They are so cute. I love that line of fabric . 🙂 You could try some clear glue if the flame doesn’t work… Or a little knot then fraying the ends could look nice
