KIDS wall hanger |
Dear partners/husbands/significant others of quilters with kids,
If the quilter in your life is anything like me, quilting is her escape. The place where she can zone out of the worries and stresses and busy bits of life and just create. Fabric is her addiction, quilt books are piled up, and heaven help you if you use her fabric scissors for anything but fabric!
You may have heard that Mother’s Day is coming up. We will always treasure homemade cards and presents from the kids, don’t get us wrong, but if you really want to make us happy, listen up – I have a few great ideas for the quilter in your life! And this goes for birthdays and Christmas too…
- Gift vouchers to a favourite fabric shop – just check the credit card statements for where we frequent the most!
- Stalk our Pinterest to see what fabric we’re drooling over – I have a board solely dedicated to the fabric I want in my life – and buy it. Fat quarter bundle is the recommended size.
- Rifle through our notions and see what’s missing – is our cutting mat looking a little worse for wear? Buy one. The bigger the better. Our ruler collection looking a little small? Buy one or two – small square ones, or a big long one are always good for adding to a basic collection.
- Check out her Craftsy classes wishlist and buy one for her. And if you look today, ALL CLASSES ARE ON SALE! Just sayin’….
- Talking of wishlists, see if she has anything bookmarked on Book Depository or Amazon – modern quilt books or magazines are always a winner, and if you’re “international” (aka not in the USA), Book Depository has free shipping.
- After a beautiful breakfast and some family time, take the kids out all day and let her sew. All. Day. Top it off with her favourite dinner and a movie night. Sounds good to me!
- Has she been doing a lot of sewing lately? Book a massage for those sore neck and shoulders from wrestling quilts through her machine.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration when purchasing gifts for us.
Sincerely,
Quilting Mothers

I’m emailing this to B. Although I’d rather if he didn’t check the credit card statement :P. I may frequently use the line “This fabric? I’ve had it for ages!”
That’s the beauty of him working long hours, he is never around when I head to the post office to pick up my mail, so he never knows when the fabric arrives, and the kids haven’t been dobbing me in lately.
