Yes ladies and gentleman, after well over a year, my Good Fortune quilt is finally on the home stretch! I’ve finished all the straight line quilting – I’ve outlined the blocks to both stabilise for FMQ and also as inspired by shoji screens. You see, my plan is to fill in each block with a different design – inspired by sashiko or the fabric or Japanese designs.
I’m using a variegated blue 40w Aurifil for the bobbin and an off-white 50w Aurifil for the top – why the different weights? Because that’s all I had in those colours! The blue blends-ish into the back, and the top thread doesn’t stick out too much in the myriad of colours on the top. There are 15 blocks to be filled in now, so we’ll see how long it will take. I’ve already started Pinning some ideas to my Free Motion Quilting Inspiration board.
Linking up to WIP Wednesday!

What a great idea Alyce. MR from TGIFF has some great FMQ designs on her blog banner. They caught my eye last Friday.
