It’s the month a lot of you have been waiting for, Japanese Bundle Club is going kids’ themed! May 5th is こどもの日 (Kodomo no Hi) – Children’s Day. People celebrate this national holiday by hanging up koinobori – fish flags/kits – where the black one represents the father, the red carp represents the mother, and the blue carp represents the son. This day was traditionally Boys’ Day, but in 1948 the government changed it to celebrate all children’s personalities and happiness!
Of course, we’re celebrating it with Japanese childrens’ fabric. Available in fat quarter or fat eighth bundles, this month’s bundle features 6 different Japanese fabrics for children. It will include a mix of “boys”, “girls” and “unisex” colours and prints – something for everyone! Order by the end of May, and it will be sent by the second Friday of June. And as always, postage is included in the price!
