For 12 months, I have been sending files to my husband to print off at work. All of Kristy’s paper piecing patterns, trial prints of my own patterns, paperwork, everything. But no more!
A sleek Canon is now gracing the desktop! Nothing fancy, she just prints. In fact it would be cheaper to buy a new printer and the ink cartridges that come with it then to buy new ink cartridges when they run out… how does that work?! Seriously – ink versus technology, which one should cost the most?! Anyway, it’s been lovely to print off patterns on my own, like for Jonathan’s PJ pants.
And talking of patterns and designs, there’s currently a big Craftsy quilting class sale! 42 quilting classes are on sale, so if you’ve been waiting to sign up for one, go see if it’s on sale!

Have fun! We downgraded our printer to an all-in-one as it was cheaper than the inks – madness!

I almost threw out our printer today as the ink costs so much. It is driving us crazy.

Oh yes the imbalance of the replacement costs defies logic but not profit margins.

We ran into this problem! One year, I asked my parents for ink cartridges for Christmas! My husband prints everything off for me now–which is annoying–but has meant we haven’t needed to buy ink for over a year. There are days I really wish I had a working printer though!

That’s just what I do! I email stuff to Paul and he prints it for me at work 🙂 It’d be amazing to have a printer of my own, though I don’t have a computer desk so it would have nowhere to live… Enjoy the freedom of your own printer!
