This week, Isabelle started the fortnightly (ish…) playroom at Jonathan’s preschool. It’s a 1 hour program that mums and kids go to together the year before they start preschool, and are roughly every fortnight to equate to 20 sessions in the school year. And as such, she needed her own school book bag to carry her indoor shoes and papers and books in! Enter 1m of this gorgeous Trefle for Kokka linen blend on super sale, 20 minutes of sewing, and voila! I’ve shared a tutorial for it over at And Sew We Craft – all you need is 14″ x WOF and 20 minutes!
STOP PRESS!! Leah Day has released her next free motion quilting class on Craftsy!!! Free Motion Fillers Vol. 2 is teaches 50 more free motion quilting patterns and is the next step on from her Free Motion Fillers Vol. 1. No, I’m not just stating the obvious, but the patterns are getting a bit more complex – Overlapping, Foundational, Edge to Edge, Edge to Center, and Stem Centered. I cannot wait to get stuck into the stem centred designs – hello feathers and more! So this makes 3 classes of her’s I’m enrolled in now (the other being Free Motion Quilting A Sampler), and I hope there’s more to come! I really like her straightforward approach and clear explanations, she’s quick to respond to questions, and this new class includes a thread break cheat sheet to help troubleshoot thread problems whilst FMQing!
PS – all those Leah Day links will get you 50% off! And it’s also the final day to enter my Sew Mama Sew giveaway!

Your daughter is adorable and I am so jealous of the Japanese way of organizing things, we tried to take my then 2 1/2 year old to a pre-pre-school so she could get adjusted to playing with other kids since my son was not doing good in school and the teachers practically threw me out of the class and this brought her to tears and we tried a few more times but she won’t go without me. Gotta love those Japanese people.

What a sweet little girl! It’s cute how the tote is almost half of her size, lol.
