Alternatively titled: A 2 Year Old Directs A Quilt Photo Shoot. And it’s not the dolly who’s sick, it’s mummy with bronchitis. Ladies and gentlemen, if you have a cough lasting 2 weeks, go to the doctor!
For her second birthday, Isabelle was sent a baby doll set complete with a bag of accessories, a bed and a pillow. But no blanket! As you can imagine, I was devastated that I would have to make a doll quilt for her. Two months later I finally finished it! I was just procrastinating binding it as I didn’t think I had anything suitable, however Little Apples to the rescue once again! I can’t tell you how many things I have bound with Little Apples prints! It started with an orphan block that I stitched up from City Weekend scraps almost a year ago when we first moved here and I was using a loan machine from a friend.
I bordered it in a matching-coloured print from Spotlight and backed it in a random paisley fat quarter that also had similar colours to the front.
I then had a bit of fun lightly FMQing it before very quickly machine binding it and asking Isabelle if she liked it…
Yep, she approves. And then insisted on helping me photograph it!
All photos were taken with her input and direction.
Yesterday’s stop (or today’s if you’re in the USA!) for the Kate Spain Blog Hop is over at the Fat Quarter Shop! And today’s is with Laura at Quokka Quilts – where TGIFF is today too! Don’t forget to add your questions for Kate on the first interview post, and I’m adding all the posts to a Kate Spain Blog Hop Pinterest board, so follow along there to get inspiration!
