Well, the kids were brilliantly behaved today, entertaining each other for ages, so I was able to power through sending out all the swap emails! So if you signed up via the form, you should now have an email that you used on the form. I’ve had a few questions come through that I thought I would address them here too for you all to see:
Is it a secret swap?
You both have each other as your partner, so you know who is making a pouch for you and vice versa. As to whether the pouch you make is a secret or if you share it, that is up to you and your partner. I would suggest leaving the final fabric choice and design a surprise until your partner opens her package!
Is there a swap button?
Feel free to copy the top image to your blog and then link to the original post for more details!
What customs things should I be aware of?
Each country is different, although the general rules are to only send pre-packaged food bought from a shop with clear labels of the ingredients. Clearly list on the customs form what type of sweets are included – chocolate, gummy candy, lollipops, etc. Also note that because food is involved, parcels may take some time to clear customs. Even just going through customs itself might take some time – sending fabric orders to Spain, for example, has take a few weeks to get through customs. If you live in a country where you might have to pay import taxes (England, I think is one??), email your partner about how to clearly label the customs form regarding value and gift status.
Allergies
There were a couple of people who mentioned allergies on their sign ups, so please make sure to note if that’s your partner and to try and steer clear of them. However it is obviously up to the recipient to determine if their goodies are safe to eat. If the allergy is nuts, maybe just stick to gummy candy and hard lollies!
If you have anymore questions, please let me know in the comments and I’ll answer them there so everyone can see the answers too!
