When signing up for months for my bees earlier this year, I purposely chose August for two of them – summer holidays + toilet training = reduced sewing/blogging time. For Wombat Stew I already knew I wanted kimonos to make a wall hanging for our staircase, but for QCA Bee 1… I only made the final decision Sunday afternoon!
I’ve had this design scribbled for a while, so I asked if they wouldn’t mind pattern testing it for me and helping me make the pattern sample. They said yes! The name Fireworks came to mind as I started working on it, and I think it’s going to stick.
I started cutting for my sister-in-law’s Totoro quilt – 143 light brown 2.5″ squares and a few rectangles down, many more green, blue and grey squares and rectangles to go!
My Sweet Pouch Swap sewing has also started… I’m a little indecisive about what design to use! A fussy cut patchwork or some pencils and eraser. But I don’t know if it looks like an eraser to anyone else other than me?!

I think the pouch is very cute. I didn’t see pencils and erasers until you said something. lol It was subconscious design. Love the towers.
