Craftsy has passed over 2 million members. That. Is. Insane! To celebrate, they’re having up to 75% off everything – classes and supplies (for those in the US or Canada). And you know what that means…
Weeks Ringle’s Designing Modern Quilts class. The Wombat Stew girls had raved about the class, and it was on the list to get, and hey, for $15, the time was right! Right from the intro, I was hooked – Weeks used to live in Japan! She studied flower arranging, and that was where she got her first introduction to quilts at a Quilt Show in Tokyo. She used traditional Japanese fabrics to create a very “now” modern quilt in 1987 inspired by kimonos but based on an American quilting book pattern.
And then the “People who buy this class also buy…” advertising got me – Jacquie Gering’s Improvisational Piecing, Modern Design class. I loved her talk at QuiltCon, I follow her blog and on Instagram, and I’m very intrigued by her slice and insert technique! Which is covered in the class. Sold.
So I have some listening and viewing to do while home alone at nights this week! Once I finish Caro Sheridan’s Shoot It photography class – which is definitely on my top 3 favourites list by the way. I’m looking forward to sharing a review for that later this week!
PS – Did you know if you become an affiliate and use your own affiliate link to purchase from Craftsy, you “save” 30% extra off each time? Because you get commission off your own purchase. So even if you don’t want to advertise on your blog, use it for your own personal purchases!
Linking up to Sunday Stash at Hot Pink Quilts!

OK, so I don’t have to be a seller of anything to be a Craftsy affiliate? Please explain!

Weeks Ringle is hardcore. I looked through one of her books, and wow. Absolutely awesome! She and her husband make it seem so easy to put those lovelies together, but I don’t even know where to start, haha! You’ll have to blog about your experience with the class. I’d love to hear! 🙂
