My in-laws arrived Sunday night, and yes that’s a good thing! Not only do we get on really well, but the kids have quite happily turned to them for cuddles and playing and lovin’, providing mummy and daddy with some much needed breaks from supervision, entertainment and maintenance. Tomorrow night we have our first date night away since before we left Australia to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary on Friday. We scored an incredible last-minute-website deal for a big, fancy room at Odaiba with Rainbow Bridge views… I. Am. Ecstatic!
So as a result, the next couple of weeks will be light on sewing-wise. I have a bento lunch bag to make for mum while she’s here and some Easy As ABC blocks to finish off before next Friday.
I have sewn bee blocks into rows, which is getting a good start on my daughter’s Christmas present quilt. After my quick baby quilt finish on the weekend (giveaway still going!), I really want to finish the top off and adding some borders to bulk it up a little so I can feel even more accomplished! But priorities first… Like going and curling up on the couch with my Wrapping Paper quilt and resting, veggie-juicing and paracetamol-ing this bad cold away so I can enjoy date night tomorrow!

Get better quickly Alyce and have a wonderful date night – I know what it feels like to not have babysitters very often! Enjoy 🙂
