Today, I sat down and got to it. Well, once I had cleaned up my sewing table, sorted out the mess on the table next to it, cleared the floor of toys (the occupational hazard of sharing space in the playroom), played around with colours and fabrics and layouts, and done a bunch of cutting, then I sat down and just sewed. I’m happy to report it didn’t suck, but that it felt fabulous. After 3 weeks of solo-parenting, a bad head cold and in-laws visiting and tour guiding, it felt fabulous. Glorious, creative, productive fabulousness.
It’s times like these, when my sewing and creative fabric playtime is greatly reduced, that I realise how much I need to sew. How much I need to dream, design and do. Some people exercise for endorphins, I play with fabric!

Oh I know what you mean! I’m solo parenting now during school hols (but only for a week) and if I can get five minutes stitching time, I’m a happy mum.
