This is folks, the final countdown until Christmas and the end of the year. Christmas has only just hit the shops here in Japan, which means it really mustn’t be that far off after all. For example, would anyone like to order this Christmas cake? Also available in a Pokemon-esque or a Barbie-esque theme too? No?
Normally, I’ll share a few little snippets of what I’m working on each week for WIP Wednesday, but it’s crunch time with a lot to get done over the next couple of months. Thankfully there are a few great linkies to help motivate and keep me accountable at working on my list for the remainder of the year.
1. Totoro quilt – Due in less than a month, preferably to be sent to my sister-in-law in 3 weeks time, and I’ve had to order more Sketch for the sky. Gulp. This is gonna be a close finish!
2. Commissioned nursery set – My first! A baby quilt, bunting and a name cushion. Charms are cut awaiting child-free time to safely arrange on the floor and piece together, and fabric pulled for the bunting and pillow. This due soon too.
3. I Am Ninja quilt – For my sister’s baby due in January, I’m using the ninja and kanji prints from this stack of Japanese-themed awesomeness. So this needs to be done by Christmas so it will reach her in time! Which would require me to decide on a final design, sigh.
4. Wombat Stew Secret Santa – Once again, we’re doing Secret Santa, and I’m thrilled with who I’ve been assigned! Of course, I can’t show anything for that, but I’ve bought a major print I’ll be using from Miss Matatabi… hence the picture.
5. Kate Spain Christmas project – An unintentional Christmas tradition to use her yearly Christmas range each year for something Christmassy for at home. This year I have some In From The Cold for more Ornamental plans, and some Christmas trees, probably for Christmas gifts for preschool mums.
6. Bee Quilt – I also will be finishing this quilt for my daughter using some bee blocks from this year. I have the blocks pieced into rows, I now need to add some sashing in between or maybe just a white border and then the Tsuru border print I purchased for these bee blocks… Need to have a play with layout and work out just how big I want it to be!
7. Double Wedding Ring Challenge – This is a total dream, but hey, aim high, right? An entry for the Double Wedding Ring Challenge. Entries are due December 1st, so we’ll see how November shapes up once the first two items are ticked off this list! And seeing as my design fits into the Modern category, that means at least 9 blocks to get meet the 4 ring requirements, not to mention quilting and binding…
8. Bees & BOMs – Not to mention keeping up with Modern QAL, 3 bees and the Easy As ABC QAL!

Busy times! Can’ wait to see all those finishes. I’ll have to keep my eye out for a Christmas swap or two – I haven’t done one in ages and I’m really missing them!

I think my favorite part if of this is you have a project to finish so now you have to “pick a design”. That’s so how I work!
