Guys. Christmas is coming. NEXT MONTH! That’s not an anxious announcement, that’s an excited announcement!! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Japan really throws on a winter party each year – spectacular light displays in particular that last well beyond Christmas itself. And we’re headed to Disney Sea with visiting family, so I’m pretty excited to see Disney do Christmas! And pick up a thing or two for my Disney Quilt Swap partner, of course. Not to mention our yearly trip to the snow! This year it will be with my cousin, who is one of my closest friends – squeeee!
My Christmas sewing list is looking pretty good, actually. One big present is just about finished, I’ve already got a couple of smaller presents whipped up too. I need to use Ornamental to make a couple more smaller presents – a table runner/placemat I think, although I can’t decide whether to use a few 5″ blocks or a couple of 10″ blocks! I’ll have to secret squirrel snoop the size of the intended destination and go from there. And then maybe a cushion cover from some 5″ers too. And lastly, I have a small pram/baby-sized quilt to do too. That last one should confuse my friends and family as they try to think who needs a baby quilt at Christmas, haha! And no, it’s not us! All shall be revealed…
So yes, I’m actually feeling pretty smug and on top of things for once! How about you?!
Linking up to WIP Wednesday!

Good on you. Being totally honest, I purchased a kit for a Kaffe Christmas runner in April, started it in July, and it hasn’t seen any action since then! (Both of those months were school holidays). Maybe I’m waiting for the Christmas school holidays to start on Dec 9. That will be leaving it late!

I’m only now starting to think about my Christmas sewing. I need to get a move on! Love the ornament quilt pattern – I didn’t know you had a Christmas pattern available. (I need to pay more attention!) I’m so envious of you getting to see Disney at Christmas time – I’m sure it’ll be spectacular!

My bright sky quilt is going to be one of my Christmas presents. Haven’t thought of anything else yet – although I would like to make a tree skirt and an advent calendar this year, but rapidly running out of time!

Well done! I hope nothing sneaks up on you that means you have more to make! I don’t have a list, first we have to celebrate my daughters 10th birthday, I have one thing to finish for that!

I confess that this year might be a shop-bought Christmas. For the last two years, I have made everyone in my small family something, but I have a mountain of UFOs, and I need to focus and finish some. Back to hand-made next year, perhaps.
Omotesando’s Christmas fairy lights. I used to love those, and I got to see them every day as my office was only a block from the main street. Lovely. I am very envious of the snow trip too!

I am excited to get back to my Christmas sewing this week! Lots of Sew Together Bags and some boxy pouches, and a couple different placemat/napkin sets. I better get to work!
