I’m a little behind, which I’m sure won’t be the first time! But I’ve got four more blocks to show off today from month 2 of the Farmer’s Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt sew along.
Aimee
Pretty little Aimee! In Year 8 French, we had to choose a French name for ourselves, and then we celebrated our Name Day throughout the year. I chose Aimee! Mainly because her name day was in term 1, and before I moved interstate and thus because it meant I could still get a turn at celebrating… Priorities, people, priorities. This version of Aimee was foundation paper pieced, in a nice little session of singing along to Josh Groban’s Noel album. Yay Christmas music!
Kate Spain: Horizon
Hello Kitty: Skytree
Aurifil: 2540
Jewel
Another foundation paper pieced block, mixing old and new Kate Spain!
Kate Spain: Sunnyside, Central Park
Hello Kitty: Shikoku (olive)
Aurifil: 5017
Patience
Super easy, super quick. I kept the block structure as a nine-patch block to “maintain the book integrity”… and because I like being able to nest seams. True story.
Kate Spain: Sunnyside
Hello Kitty: Doctor Yellow shinkansen
Aurifil: 3920
Patricia
Ah Patty, old girl, you were fun! I pieced the HSTs using the alternative method, and actually strip pieced the side units in two sections, using charm square pieces, then subcut them in half to make the units. Not to mention fussy cutting the middle square!
Kate Spain: Sunnyside
Hello Kitty: Mt Fuji – my very first one!
Aurifil: 2805
