I am now one-third of the way through the 1930’s Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt! I’ve made 34 blocks and that’s definitely a milestone worth celebrating by sharing a (very) cobbled together image of what my overall quilt is shaping up to look like. It feels slightly traitorous to Kate Spain to admit that I’m actually going to be using this Paint Dot Cloud print from Paper Bandana by Alexia Marcelle Abegg, but it’s the perfect mid-shade of grey with a slight sparkle to set off the glorious blocks of Kate Spain colour!
This isn’t the absolute final layout, I suspect that there will be quite a few hours at the end of trying to work it all out finally, but this gives me a good idea of how it’s all balancing out. I’ve selected the fabric for the blocks that take me from mid-January (where I’m up to in the list) to the end of March #officialbloggerperks, so you’ll be seeing a burst of teals and aqua and purple when they start getting made! Slowly filling outwards, trying to use every line, and use up charms… which are hard to use up even though the blocks are only 6″ finished – so many small pieces uses up fabric fast. But this progress image has certainly given me a boost of motivation to keep going!
