When I did my big clear out a couple of months ago, I (happily) realised something about my stash – I’ve used up a lot of the low volume prints I love! This makes me happy, because it means I’ve been using my stash a lot. You see, I love LOW low volume, prints that virtually read as white if you look at them through the black and white filter on your phone camera. But I’ve been challenging myself to start getting a liiiitle bit more saturated. To try and use up the darker greys and black white prints that have been sitting on my shelf for, well, forever. But this year, I’m going to change that. And chasing down Alison Glass at QuiltCon was a step towards that.
Abacus (and perhaps some Sunprints 2016) was on my wishlist of fabric to purchase while in the US if I could find a bundle. I couldn’t find anything on the show floor at the vendor booths, so when I happened to see her passing by outside in the plaza, I pounced! Thankfully, she did have some bundles with her to sell in her classes, so I headed to her classroom that night to pick up some. She had both the black and white Abacus, and the colour bundle, plus the particular prints from Sunprints 2016 (Grow) that I was after in their own bundle! Score!
I have a project in mind for these already, and mixing in the Mercury prints from last year too. However, we’re talking of a project for delivery by May/June next year, so for now, they get to just sit pretty on my shelf!

Wonderful additions! I’ve ordered some Grow from Alison, and am impatiently awaiting it’s arrival as I already have an EPP project planned for some of it. I just love all of her fabrics and Abacus is also on my must get list. Just as soon as I my sewing room up and running again (I’m in the midst of moving house) I’m planning on picking it up too.
