I finished a major milestone on a big quilt project this week, which meant I could finally allow myself to work on something else for a change! On my mat was these lovely Carolyn Friedlander prints. Doe, Architextures, Carkai… they all mix so well. I just love how she incorporates a fantastic range of shades throughout her collections!
And I also finally got to use my rotating cutting mat for trimming HSTs. Ohhh, it is everything I’d hoped for and more. After years of making a lot of half-square triangles with just a normal ruler and cutting mat, and then a few months of Bloc Loc… I feel very fancy now! I got this gorgeous pink beauty from Cotton Factory a few weeks ago when they had a sale on, and I love my name in gold. It does take a bit of getting used to – muscle memory keeps going to rotate the fabric not the mat. But I’m getting there! I’m also highly impressed by how well the surface holds up to the cutter.
On to you guys now, and Kathleen finished this gorgeous rainbow quilt. I love the tones she used!
How about Sue’s fantastic Union Jack quilt using large-scale florals?! Very effective!
And Kelly has worked her magic again with this beautiful quilt finish.
Ok guys, time to link up one of your posts from this week! It could be a finished quilt, or your latest quilting bee blocks, or a cushion, or anything else quilty related. And did you know you can link directly to an Instagram pic too?! So if you want to link from there, you can do that too โ link up as normal, and use #sewcutetuesday and @blossomheartquilts on IG to help us find you from there too.
