I was very happy with the April box, but this month’s Sew Sampler box is even better! I mean, tiny pegs do tend to have that effect on me *so cute!*
There are some fantastic items in this month’s box, and with the total value over $50, certainly a great deal! I love that we got two charm packs, and two Aurifil threads! They’re the perfect neutral colour too, so very useful for sure. I already have a project in mind for the Cozy Christmas 5″ stackers, which is a first for me, but they’re just too cute not to!
I’m also very excited about the Bobbinis, which I never thought I’d say, as I use a Clover bobbin holder and store my thread in a plastic box. However, I’ve just paid a deposit for a quilting retreat in October, and I can use these to pack my thread and bobbins! I was equally excited about the tweezers – I’ve long thought, but never acted on it, that tweezers would be useful to have next to my sewing machine for plucking the bits of paper left in seams and such when foundation paper piecing. Well, now I have some! They can also be used as a stiletto, which was something I was needing to get now that my machine is fast and powerful enough to bite my fingers if they get too close.
I had to laugh when I read Angie’s review – I had also thought that the colouring page would be perfect for using as an embroidery design! And I’ve already packaged up the buttons into a tiny little tin I bought the other day for an extra in an upcoming swap. Plus you’ve got the next Sew Sampler quilt block, and an exclusive Lori Holt pattern just for this box.
You can see each item up close and in detail on the Fat Quarter Shop’s blog here. I can’t wait to see what arrives in the next box!
I was provided with a free 3-month subscription to the Sew Sampler box for review. As always, opinions are 100% my own.

Looks like fun. I have those tweezers and they are fabulous! I don’t get the bobbin thingies, though. Can you please explain how they work/what they do?

I’ll definitely take a pic when I use them, but for now, the bobbin sits on the stick part and the other end squeezes into the middle of the spool.
