Alrighty, guys, at last it’s time to share your progress! Thank you so much for your patience in organising this sharing of blocks 7-12. It’s taken a while, with an interstate move in the middle, but last there’s some space and time to do this thing. So, in the second quarter of the Modern HST Sampler, we made blocks using 3″ finished half-square triangles. And you guys have been rocking it! I’ve seen so much improvement in getting those points to match, a lot more confidence in choosing different fabric placements from what the tutorial blocks show, and even more people joining in on the fun – welcome!
So, have you made blocks 7 to 12? I hope so, because you’ve had plenty of extra time, haha! That and there’s some fantastic prizes on offer…
Prizes
Grand Prize // BlocLoc is offering up HST set #2 to one lucky winner who has made all 6 blocks.
Other Prizes // Fat Quarter Shop will be sending a Bunny Trails fat quarter bundle to one of you.
Gotham Quilts has a $25 gift certificate on offer to someone else.
And I just had to get one of the Must Haves bundle from Ms Midge to share – it works in nicely with the fabrics I’m using! So that’s 5 small spools of 40w Aurifil thread for another lucky winner.
The Linky
Use the linky below to add your blog post or Instagram post. If you don’t know how to do so, here’s how to add your link to an inLinkz linky. Make sure your photo includes all six blocks to be eligible for the Grand Prize.
I had hoped to have another option for adding a photo from your computer, because if you do that to the linky, it makes the photo really small and we can’t see the blocks properly! But alas I couldn’t make it work. So if you don’t have a blog or Instagram, please email me your photo instead to contact AT blossomheartblog.com and I’ll put them all together to show them off on this post! Email me by the Sunday September 11, 11:55pm (AEST).
So without further ado, link up what blocks you’ve made from #7 – #12!
***IMPORTANT UPDATE***
Trying to upload an Instagram post will give you an error. This error is from inLinkz end, and out of my control, I’m sorry! But if you’ve posted one picture of all 6 blocks on Instagram in the past week, and used the hashtag #modernhstsampler, I will see it, and count it in the random draw for prizes! I’m so sorry about all this. This quarter’s linky has been one disaster or delay after another! As such, I have extended the deadline so that everyone still has a chance to enter.
Official stuff: Linky and email closes Sunday September 11, 11:55pm (AEST). Winners will be selected randomly and contacted via email.

Well I’ve added a link to my blog post showing the Modern HST so far. I’m one block short in the post as the other block is in a different post. I’m not worried about being entered in the draw, I just wanted to show off where I am xxxx
Alyce says
No worries, thanks for letting me know!
Ioleen says
So far so good. This has been fun and great practice.
Alyce says
Woohoo! Go Ioleen!

Yay, I’ve caught up with all these blocks.
I’ve tried linking up from instagram (from phone and laptop) and it says:
{“code”: 403, “error_type”: “OAuthForbiddenException”, “error_message”: “You are not a sandbox user of this client”}
Do you have any techy wisdom as to what I’m doing wrong?
I shall keep trying – I think I’m going to have to stop being lazy and transfer the photos and write a blog post to link instead 🙂
Alyce says
From Instagram to the linky?! That’s bizarre, I have no idea, sorry!
Sue says
I’m getting this same message when trying to link from Instagram.
Anja @ Anja Quilts says
Hi. I’m trying to link up my blog post. It says the link up is open until Wednesday the 7th, but there is no link up button, and it says the collection is closed.
Alyce says
Oh good grief, of course it does *moaning face* This linky has been one disaster after another! It is reopened, and extended the deadline. I’m sorry!
CaryLyn says
I can’t find the linky button.
Can you help describe where it is?
Thanks,
CaryLyn
