Holy smokes, guys, I realised last month yet another thing that the Big International Move made me forget… Sharing the incredible work you guys have been making from the various Blossom Heart Quilts patterns and tutorials! It was (and still is!) one of my most favourite parts of this blog, to share the way you guys have worked your magic and taken the designs and made them your own. Ironically, I’ve been occasionally reposting your work on Instagram using #bhqbyyou but just never made the connection to the fact I used to blog this, sigh. Must get back into that habit! So, let’s remedy that right now, ok?!
First up, the email that jogged my memory about it all… Gretchen made this stunning Fairy Tale Castle quilt for a gift. LOOK AT THAT 3D DETAIL! I’m not showing my daughter, because she’d be dying of jealousy over the Rapunzel hair. And those flags!
And then there’s this one by @midwesternbite – an underwater castle! So clever! These two castles are definitely the most unique I’ve seen so far.
Quilts from the last round of the Aurora BOM are being finished off, here’s how @summers.h quilt has turned out like. Love!
And the next Aurora BOM has started (you can still sign up!), with @ioleen.kimmel choosing these fabrics to get started.
The Bee Hive Quilts are still going strong, with over 2000 posts shared using #thebeehivequilts! I love seeing the different colour combinations used, and the various methods used to finish off quilts. Like adding a wide yellow border and green cornerstones to this Star Plus quilt by @sharingthegoodstuff. It’s a great way to add some size to a 12-block bee quilt.
Or a delicious mustard one to the Autumn Chain quilt by @modernstitchinmama. The red binding is the perfect finishing touch!
And this Magic 8 Ball quilt by @nepeanquilter caught my eye when scrolling through the Bee Hive Quilts feed too! Black and white with the red really pops.
A recent favourite of mine is this Nebula mini quilt whipped up by @quiltingwithyou very soon after I shared the tutorial! This is actually the second one – the first had the large flying geese reversed, so she made another one “correctly”, but her first looked awesome anyway!
There’s nothing that thrills me more than seeing you guys take my patterns and run. Make them your own, create what you love!
