It has been quite a big couple of months around here for me, ticking off a lot of big items on my when-in-Australia bucket list. Two of the biggest items on that list of things to do once we’d moved back to Australia was to teach quilting classes (TICK) and get my patterns printed (TICK). And it turns out that November is the time in which to do it all!
Last week, I finally took delivery of the first 3 patterns I had printed – Garland, Starlight, and Poinsettia. And the fourth Making Merry pattern, Snowflake, is currently at the printers as we speak. First thing to do was get to stuffing bags, slipping my beautifully printed patterns on 250gsm paper into their individual cello bags. Second thing to do was to send off patterns to the incredibly talented and generous pattern testers who helped me along the way with these!
It was so satisfying to print off the addresses and take a nice little stack into the post office. Next came the part of putting them up for sale in my shop! They’re all there now, with Snowflake up for pre-order ahead of the delivery early next week.
And now, it’s time to start approaching stores to carry them. Which means that if you are a store and are interested in carrying Blossom Heart Quilts patterns, please check out the Wholesale information. Or perhaps you have a local quilt store that you shop at and would love to see these pretty patterns in store, please don’t hesitate to spread the word.
But finally, and most certainly not least, I need to thank you. Each and every one of you who have been here with me along this journey, some from the very very early days when I posted tutorials with dodgy photos, through to those who loved and supported me through the move from Japan back to Australia this year. To those who comment and sew along and have fun, thank you. And I can’t not say thank you to those incredible quilters whom I have the immense pleasure of knowing in real life, to my tribe.
Because without all of you, none of this would ever have happened. Printed patterns and classes would have remained a dream on a piece of paper.

Alyce, you’ve really hit the Aussie ground running! These are 2 really BIG TICKS on your list–congratulations on two such challenging accomplishments. (I love paper patterns–will shipping to the US be huge?)
Alyce says
Thank you, Karen!! Your comment reminded me that I needed to double check a few things about shipping overseas, and it now depends on how many you order. One or two patterns is $3, three or more is $8.
