Oh my poor Farmer’s Wife quilt… it got a bit left behind in all that moving I did last year! I think I made one block after leaving Japan?! And then the 100 Blocks project took over my 6″ sampler timeslot 😉
But I am determined to get it done and finished this year. Like with my Tula Blue quilt, I’ve accepted that my timeline is slower, and that it’s ok! My achievable goal is one block per week. I’m even writing it down in my week’s sewing to-do list!
I will still be making a quilt of 99 blocks, but if some are just too ridiculously complicated, I’ll substitute in a different, simpler block design from somewhere else to fill in that hole! I’d rather have it finished and done, then spend 3 hours making one 6″ block. Or, um, making more than one of some blocks… I excitedly whipped up the light blue Sarah block above last week because it’s a quick and easy one, only to open up my blog and see that I’d already made it…
So I guess I now have one less block to make overall! Here’s what it was looking like a few blocks ago:
I’m secretly hoping that I’ll make more than one per week so that I can get this rainbow tribute to everything Kate Spain done and see my vision come to life, and ideally it’d be my “create before you consume” type of morning warm up, but you know, sleep. School runs. Gym. We shall see! So far, there’s been one in the morning, and one later at night when my husband was late coming home from work.

So far, it looks rather magical. I look forward to watching it grow!

Looks quite exciting. Hoping to see the finished quilt in the near future.

Ha, well, we shall see how near that future is…

I’m right there with you! I’m working on one per week right now, and find I”m actually re-enjoying the process of these little blocks. Also agree that those that are crazy complicated are just not going to make the cut (sorry, blocks!).

There seems to be a few of us who are recharged and ready to try again! Yay us!
