Another month, and another set of blocks for my quilting bee! This month’s queen is Bec aka @skyberries, and she asked if I could EQ8 up her ideas before committing to her choice for the month. Now Bec makes some AMAZING quilts, and I was so excited to see what she’d choose. Firstly, she chose the Fizzy block. Good start! I’ve been really enjoying curves lately. Then she said black and white prints (uh oh… a big gap in my stash!) and florals.
I wasn’t sure what type of florals she was wanting, so I first did up a quick one in sweeter florals…
Nope, that’s not what she was wanting. She wanted a riot of florals like Caroline chose! Well then, that I can do.
Oooh, this is going to be one amazing quilt! The black and white prints, with grey on white in the diamonds, and a crazy explosion of florals.
I had three black and white prints, so I did have to go shopping again, oh no! And for once, my Fizzy blocks actually went together smoothly. I chronically forget to trim the drunkards path blocks before sewing the block together! But not this time.
And I also arranged them correctly the first time around too. I’ve messed that up before, too!
Next month is my month! And I’m so excited, because 1) I get lots of happy mail this month! But mainly because 2) I chose June because I’m headed off on a big trip, yippee!

Choosing curved piecing for a bee block is so very, very brave, but I love the effect of the fabric choices in this drunkard’s path.

Haha! It is, yes, although our bee has now done a few of these!
