I’ve started off strong making my newest Aurora BOM quilt! In fact, I’ve got all my background pieces already cut thanks to #designerprerogative and my handy dandy AccuQuilt – there’s a lot of squares to cut! But I’m mostly cutting the prints as I go each month, so that I can get a good mix of prints/the right colour thing happening.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m using a Tula Pink rainbow fat quarter bundle, which includes a mix of her lines. I’m purposely trying to use the more multicoloured prints, which goes against my blender comfort zone, but dang… I’m loving it! I need to do this more often!
For the second block, the pattern includes instructions for using three prints – one for the centre pinwheel, and two alternating around the outside. But I wanted to show off more of that gorgeous print, so I used it around the outside too!
That’s what I’m all about in quilting – make it your own. Want to show off more of your fabric? Do it! Make the pattern work for YOU!
If you’d like to subscribe to the Aurora BOM, you still can! I leave sign ups open for the duration of the BOM, as I know that seeing the quilts come to life can make you want to jump on board too.

I really like looking at the quilts that I get in the email. They are just what I would do if I could do more than one quilt at a time!!!
