I am plodding incredibly slowly through my Cherish quilt. And my deadline keeps getting pushed further and further back, to the point where I HAVE to get it done by my daughter’s birthday in March or I run the risk that she’ll have outgrown it! Thankfully, she still likes seeing peeks of it, and she doesn’t care if it’s a full bed-sized quilt worth of EPP or not, she just wants a mummy quilt. So, the plan is to do a couple more fully-pieced hexies, and then possibly some that are half-pieced (i.e. the outer parts of the block are all one fabric piece, as opposed to 5 pieces), and then make up the rest of the quilt with machine-pieced patchwork of more Heather Ross.
I also need to get it done before I keep buying more HR; it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous, haha! Earlier this year at QuiltCon, I bought a few pieces of Kinder just for this quilt. And last week, I was thrilled to find someone local destashing some excess Lightening Bugs that Heather recently re-printed. I did have a bit of FOMO after the release of it, but had resigned myself to never having any. But now I have a fat quarter bundle of it, and it has kinda reinvigorated my excitement for my Cherish quilt. I want to dive in and fussy cut again! Which is good, because I need to have a cutting and basting session soon anyway, so now I’m actually looking forward to it.
Talking of cutting and basting… my latest block I’ve been piecing while I was in Sydney? I somehow lost a piece. Um, oops!
So I’ll have to re-cut and baste one of those diamonds so I can finish it!
My main problem is that I can only maintain consistent progress on one EPP project at a time, so while my urge to EPP is strong, Cherish is competing with Pollinate. What I think I’ll try and do is use my Monday afternoon craft groups at church for cutting and basting Cherish, and then night time stitch time for Pollinate to get that central rosette finished off… But who knows with me, haha! All I do know for sure, is that my daughter has requested more “cool colours” in the form of blues and purples, so I shall do a couple of blocks in those colours.

This is looking lovely. I have just started another EPP bag while still working on a quilt. Actually the bag is the 10th time I have used the same pattern by Cath Kidston, I love the simple design and it is great for presents. x
