EQ8 Ambassador for 2019

I have been using Electric Quilt – first EQ7 and now EQ8 – to design all my quilts, quilt blocks, and quilt patterns. As I’ve mentioned before, there are plenty of times where I begin on graph paper, but I always run my designs through EQ8 to play around with colouring, whether it’s for a personal project, a quilting bee, or it’s destined to become a quilt pattern. It’s such an integral part to my sewing process, so I’m thrilled and honoured to be working closely with a company whose products I have loved using for years! Last year, I worked with them for a few months as an EQ Artist, and I’m proud and excited to take it even further.

 

I am an EQ Ambassador for 2019, alongside Nancy Mahoney. What this means is that throughout 2019, I’ll be sharing more EQ8 content – tutorials, projects, and even giveaways. And what better time than now to share my first free EQ project download!

The Tic Tac Toe quilt block tutorial is one of my most popular tutorials ever, so it was a natural choice to choose to share it as an EQ8 download. The way the block creates Xs and Os across the quilt top… so fun. Like this one by Michelle from @coleandtaffy using navy Xs and pink Os:

The colour placement options are limitless! And so if you have EQ8, you can download the project file and play around with colours and layouts (try it on point!) using the Tic Tac Toe block to your heart’s content.

For this example, I kept it simple and monochromatic with black Xs and white Os. The grey background makes it all pop!

Once downloaded, you will need to unzip the file by right-clicking on the zipped folder and selecting Extract All and save the EQ file to Documents > MyEQ8 > Projects.
