We made it!! We have finally made it through our first hot and humid and horrible summer in Japan. Bring on the cool autumn days… Please. Any day now would be appreciated…
But despite the horrible weather, it’s been a busy and creative month!
1. Sweet Blooms quilt 2. Quilt designing pencil case 3. Transport I-Spy quilt 4. Stroller book bag
5. A Very Merry HST Block of the Fortnight – Tinsel 6. Totoro nappy wallet
7. Fat Quarter Shop’s BOM scrappy purse 8. Paper pieced transport cushion
Not pictured is August’s block for the Fat Quarter Shop’s BOM as I only had my #sewingfail picture where a corner block was rotated 90 degrees – oops! But talking of the FQS and their BOM, my zippered pouch made from leftover HSTs from the BOM was featured in this month’s Project Round Up on their blog, the Jolly Jabber!! Check it out!!
Phew!! Now, scheming for September…
– design, make, and write a secret pattern/tutorial by September 16th (chop chop!!)
– finish piecing the back of the Good Fortune quilt and baste… hopefully start quilting.
– the next two A Very Merry HST BOF blocks
– one Japanese sampler block each week
– catch up with In Color Order’s HST BOM as I didn’t get around to August’s and September’s will be up soon!
– stay up to date with the Fat Quarter Shop’s BOM
– finish writing up the pattern for Totoro!ย
– start my project for a blog hop starring here in October… I’ll give you a hint – it’s called “Sweet Treats”!
– start my sister’s baby quilts: a cot quilt (gender neutral) and two pram quilt (one “of each” and she gets whichever one is appropriate!).
The final exciting bit of news is that last month I signed up for the Small Blog Meet too. But this month I have well and truly graduated!! And there’s only two more days to enter the Kokka fabric and store voucher giveaway to celebrate having reached 100 followers this month.

I would be so proud of all these finishes especially as you have been sweating whilst sewing in August. Don’t forget to add sushi to your list.

You have had a great month of sewing, *so impressed*. I didn’t know the summers got hot and humid in Japan….interesting and note to self – “if visiting Japan, don’t go in summer”!
